What began as an idea inspired by the American Public Library is today a fun place for more than 3000 kids. We called that little idea ‘Hippocampus’. The Hippocampus Experience Center is more than just a library, it’s also a place where kids can play games, learn new skills, participate in clubs, bump intold friends, and make new ones...

Hippocampus opened its first center in Koramangala, in March ‘03. With 5000 books, 500 multimedia titles, bean bags, a big backyard and plenty of space for kids to read and have fun. In December 2004, Hippocampus opened its second center, Shankara Rotary Hippocampus, in Basavanagudi.

Started 8 years ago by the Sringeri Sharada Peetham and the Rotary Club, it was relaunched as Shankara Rotary Hippocampus with lots more books, exciting activities, and workshops...

In October 2005, Hippocampus stepped into Chennai with its first center at Abhiramapuram (now in Nandanam).
