Reading for Real
Reading for Real is the intervention program designed as a follow up to the
reading assessment. Typically the assessment and intervention are done together, for optimum effectiveness. The program consists of 24 sessions, with three assessments - the 1st one at the start of the program, the 2nd after 12 sessions, and the 3rd on completion of 24 sessions. The sessions are designed to progressively improve fluency and reading comprehension while the assessment helps monitor its
efficacy. Each session runs for 90 minutes and consists of reading and related
activities. Workshops are conducted for the librarians
and volunteers on how to
conduct each session, and volunteers are also
offered internship. Reading for Real
has been developed in association with
The Teacher Foundation (TTF). |
