Our Story

Our Journey So Far

Milestones that shaped our story.

The Beginning

Hippocampus opened its first children's library in Bangalore — a warm, welcoming space built around a simple idea: give every child access to good books and the joy of reading. That first reading room grew into a network of libraries and reading programmes for children.

2003

Preschools in Rural Karnataka

Hippocampus launched preschool centres in rural India and had 200+ centres operational by 2020.

2011

K–12 Schools

Hippocampus started its first school to deliver world-class learning opportunities to students from modest backgrounds and beyond big cities — growing into a network of CBSE and State Board schools across South India.
